I couldn’t find any posts covering this little hack so I thought I would share it in case it might help somebody.

This is the key ring eyelet on one of my Super Tinkers

The eyelet is an extension of the back spring that the bottle opener rides on. As a result, the eyelet moves outward when the spring is flexed. This gives us a little more room to cut the eyelet off with a Dremel wheel.

Here’s one that I just finished up. Backspring is flexed in this picture.

I don’t see a need for any filing because with the bottle opener fully opened, at half stop, or fully closed the section that I cut sits below the liners. If filing were required, there is additional risk of getting metal shavings inside the pivots that might be difficult to get out of there. This little hack if done properly doesn’t require filing unless you just want to.

Hope this can help someone.
