SAK Farmer mod: Access to main blade

Hey guys, I posted this in the MTE forum and completely forgot about this subforum. Thought you guys would enjoy :)

I've always been bugged by my SAK alox Farmer's main blade's nail nick being blocked by the saw. I finally took a dremel to the spine of the saw blade and made a shallow cut out, just enough to expose the nail nick. It is much nicer to pull the blade out now :). It took all of 10 minutes.

I don't thing so. The amount of material I removed really wasn't all that much. Once I get a chance to really use the saw (post-mod) I'll get back to you :).

Just looked at my Farmers and neither has an issue with the nail nick. Is this a common issue?

I have no idea. I think the kick on my main blade was ground a little short causing it to sit lower in the handle.
 
Looks good. It is a bit tight but my nail nick is still accessible, so not something I'd really need to do on mine, but well done on yours. :thumbup:
