Hi Masa.

The Victorinox company doesn't use one supplier solely. This is the answer I got asking the same question to the C:s info secretary:

The main supplier to the Victorinox Co regarding pocket knives is Ugine (France), Krupp/Thyssen (Germany), in smaller quantities also Böhler (Austria) and Sandvik (Sweden). Bonpertuis (France) supplies steel for the production of household and butcher knives.

I don't know what kind of steel the other two companies use, however my feeling is that the Victorinox's steel (at RC 55) is of a higher quality.
