I need help choosing a SAK. I know I want a lock blade, a large saw, and not too much else. ( I do not want a million unused "tools"). I was also wondering if there is a SAK (or a like knife) that allows you to add or suntract different tools?

Thanks guys

The new swiss military knife has a locking blade its a good knife I have one around here someplace I think it might have a saw as well.

the one handed trekker is a good version. locking blade. good saw. can opener. screw drivers. bottle opener and a awl. ohhh almost forgot tooth pick and tweezers. its a great woods knife

here is a video (not mine) on the one handed trekker. i have the camo plain edge blade and love it. perfect for woods bumming with any larger fixed blade i think

Is that the green one with the rubber grip parts because if it is, that was what I was talking about. The new one handed deal with the backwards linerlock

I've been quite happy with the Victorinox Rucksack model. Sounds like it's just what you're looking for.

I like the Trekker pretty well. I also noticed that SOG makes a multi that allows you to take it apart and switch the tools out. That seems like it would be a nice feature to have but I have NO experience with anything from SOG and multi tools can be uncomfortable. Any of you know anything about the company or their multi tools?

The Trailmaster, Forester, and Rucksack fit the bill. I personally like the Hunter. It adds one tool to what you describe, a short & curved serrated blade that I intended for skinning, but that I find useful for cordage, leather, and other uses.

Also take a look at the Vic Forester - RescueRiley gifted me one, it's perfect for woodsbumming.

The Outrider meets your qualifications as well...

One thing I've noticed is the extra layer of the scissors and small
Phillips in the Outrider makes the knife a little bit thicker than the rucksack or OHT, and the added width makes the Outrider noticeably more comfortable to carve with.

That looks identical to my Trekker (not a one handed opener version) except that I have the phillips screwdriver where the Forester has the corkscrew. I got my Trekker on sale from Amazon - it cost me ~$25 with free shipping. I can't believe how good it is for that price! The Forester would be just as good for those that prefer the corkscrew to the phillips screwdriver.

This is quite a large SAK which gives you a pretty decent sized blade and saw, the main blade + pry tool (thing that looks like a bottle opener, but no one opens bottles with one now days) both lock.
