SAK liner lock blade 'lock rock'

Bought a 2nd hand (in very unused condition - the saw teeth still had burrs left on them) Bundeswehr 'Soldier' knife. Getting used to it, I've noticed there is some up and down play or lock rock with the blade and the screwdriver/bottle opener. Both have a liner lock to secure them.
Having never used a SAK liner lock and no store selling them nearby to test a new one, is this normal?

In my experience, yes. All of mine have that lock rock and all are still tough users.

As pointed out, it is common. The lock is not designed to be as solid feeling as most locks. it basically supports, helps, to make the standard slipjoint mechanism less likely to fold..
