I know the one handed trailmaster is marketed overseas as the military, but does anyone have any thoughts on this knife? experience?

rev,
I have the noneonehander trailmaster and like it alot. I was going to get the onehander trailmaster but I didn't like the serrated blade. Do the make a onehander that isn't serrated?

unfortunatley the one handed trailmaster still only comes in a serrated version. I ordered a couple from 1sks to check it out.

I like it a lot. The main blade of course locks open, and also the screwdriver / bottle opener locks open as well.

The back spring for the main blade is not as stiff as it is on most SAKs to make it easy to use the one hand feature.

I have one and like it even though it is not in my edc rotation. As expected, the sak is a "jack-of-all-trades" as Richard mentioned because of its assortment of multi-tools.

It should be mentioned, however, that the serrated main blade is unusual in that the serrations is on the front part of the blade (not towards the rear of the blade as most of us are accustomed to seeing). The serrations, imo, are "mild" when compared against, for example, Sypderco serrations. So it seems that Victorinox tried to please everyone but, again imo, disappointed many with this main blade.

The rest of the knife is typical sak--good bang for the bucks. The only thing missing is the pocket clip (but then again what sak comes with a pocket clip?). I would take this knife with me to a picnic for its versatility and low fear factor towards sheeple. A good alternative for when you only want to carry one tool (instead of a multi-tool in addition to a decent blade). For some people this may be all the knife they need--yeah, I know this sounds like an impossible concept.

Bottom Line: A recommended buy. At $27 plus or minus a few bucks you can't go wrong.
