Good thing I checked out the Victorinox One-Handed Trekker (AKA "Trailmaster"???) in a store, before I ordered it cheaper on-line!

The friggen liner lock is for lefties! Way too awkward for a rightie like me to release...have to pull it, instead of push it....or else, use your other hand to release it, negating the "one-handed" claim.

I was also unimpressed by excessive blade play, both side to side and up and down.

Just a little lesson I learned: not to buy a knife without first handling it.

I love Victorinox, but my own complaint about the Trekker - besides the funny liner lock issue - is that the tip, rather than the base, of the blade is serrated. I hate serrations to begin with, but it really got on my nerves having the serrations at the tip (althought I admit, they don't impede cutting - I guess I just didn't like the looks).

My only complaint about my Swisstool Spirit is the blunt, serrated-at-the-tip blade. Still, Vic makes some solid stuff.

My gripe is that it is sharpened on one side. It veers to the unsharpened side when cutting. I can't even cut an apple straight.

i have it (SAK trailmaster AKA trekker i think).
I don't like serrated blade at all so all my blades are PE.
But it appears that those SAK were only available serrated, so i had to go for it...
And i should admit, that now, every time i have to slicce tomatoes in small parts, or cut a piece of bread, i use my SAK instead of my other folders...
Shame shame on me !:o

this is to say, that even if the blade is uggly, it's hard to beat it on some tasks...
