Just a quick question, is a SAK Alox Pioneer the same as the old Standard Issue knife from a few years ago?

If you are referring to the soldier I think the only difference is the lanyard ring on the pioneer.

Yes it was the soldier, you're right. The one I have has a bail on it.

Best SAKs made. I've had em, lost em, & replaced em. Wouldn't ever be w/o one.
 
I just started carrying my purple one this week! Retiring my old red one to the toolbox.
