I'm attempting to get a pocket clip installed on a Swiss Army Knife Cadet Alox.

In searching, I came across Bill Evans, but his email address no longer is valid (returned invalid), and the page knifemods.net with user "scibeer" no longer exists.

Can anyone direct me to a person who could accomplish this task?

Thanks in advance.

If you Google "Swiss Army Knife Pocket Clip" you will see a link to "Images for swiss army knife pocket clip." Clicking on some of the displayed images sometimes leads to a useful site that may help you get what you need. I admit I haven't the patience right now to check them all. Good luck.

Tried a suspension clip? They work great and are nice and cheap. The one in the photo is a knockoff, which I don't recommend, but was given to me by a friend and happens to be on the SAK I'm carrying today. You can get the actual P7 Suspension clips on Amazon.

Check out NiteIze clips.
They are glued on and works just fine.
Ive slapped them on a few SAKs.
There are two types - one which 'bite' into the pocket fabric and prevents extraction, unless one pushes down the clip. It holds the SAK very securely.

Fellow forum member chiral.grolim installs them for a very reasonable price and also sells new knives with clips. I just sent him a knife to get a clip installed. Here's a recent thread where he's offering a few for sale:

Niiiiiice!!!

The poor mans solution: NiteIze Clips.

The below from one of my earlier posts on the subject:

They are glued on with VERY strong adhesive but can easily be removed with a length of fishing line.

There are two types of NiteIze clips.

One is the 'HipClip.'

Its okay, but will slide out of what ever compartment or pocket you keep the tool or knife in. I have several HipClips, but use them exclusively on tool/knives, that are in closed/zippered compartments in rucks or the like. The clip makes the tool or knife easy to get to at the top of the pocket - no fishing around in the depths of a ruck pocket.

For me, the HipClip dont work on a knife or tool, which resides in a jeans pocket. The knife/tool will slide up (and in a worst case scenario up and out of the pocket) when you sit down or remove the pants. Just doesnt work.

Luckily, NiteIze makes a far far better clip - the NiteIze 'Eclipse' which has teeth, that literally bite into jeans material. Annoying at first, but once you get the hang of it, the Eclipse is fantastic to use. You quickly learn to remove the knife (in my case) with the clip on from the pocket in one fluid motion. It will literally NEVER leave the top of the pocket no matter how many summersaults you make. A great and useful item.

I wont link to it, as I couldnt find it on the NiteIze site, but look for the words 'NiteIze Eclipse' on a well known auction site and it quickly pops up.

I heartily recommend the Eclipse (at least it works for me).

A couple of my modded SAKs - the CF one with the aforementioned clip.

Can I safely assume you own both real and knock off P7 suspension clips? If so, can you tell us how they differ?

Was wondering that as well, as they feel the same thing to me...the cheap ones will work as nice, and save you quite a few $ to buy more SAKs :D

That suspension clip seems like it would do a great job.

Thank you all for the recommendations. I will go with the P7.

Yes, the real one is springy... Sounds silly, but the cheap one is just a piece of bent steel. If you pry it out more than a centimeter it will have a permanent gap. Whereas the real one returns to shape if it snags on something.

They're overpriced, but I'd still recommend the real one.

I was actually given 3 of the cheapos, 2 bent out and went into the trash.

Yours may be of higher quality. Mine don't have that X on the back, so may be different?

A clip, a drill, a bottom tap, and some screws. Isn't too awful hard if you are handy, though the tiny taps break every now and then. Personally I tend to put spyderco clips on everything they are they perfect pocket clip for me.

Dv5tigneev offers those little deep pocket clips made specifically for SAKs, I think.

I don't know his website or email. That's his handle on the online auction. It's a sweet clip.

SwissBianco has clips too that comes with a tiny backplate to mount the screws for more security. Meh, I mounted a BM clip to a Trekker direct to nylon handles. Right on the edge also. Still intact, no cracking.

Oh, I also use the cheapo suspension clips. They're okay, not as strong in its tension as the real deal. They won't just bend. I just bought a clip that did with a finger. That's not right.

Suspension clips are definitely the way to go, they don't alter the grip and are removable.
Here's an ultralight version ( way lighter and more compact than a p7 ) that I made from a pilot pen clip, and the pen it came from
It's currently on clipped to my pocket attached to my vic recruit.
