(I meant to post this here but inadvertently posted it in General)

I am thinking about installing a clip on a one-hand opening SAK and was wondering if someone would like to point me to a person with the skills to tackle such a task.

Thanks,
Brome

Im sure STR on the forum could do it. He can do most everything else.

I actually have a clip that I thought might work.

It's an older KnifeKits foldover deep pocket type and have roughly marked where I think it would work best. The knife is a one hand opener.

I was going to try it myself, but thought it made more sense to me to let someone who has done it before do it.
I don’t work with small taps very often, and don’t have the small screws handy.

Others have recommended that clip by Nightize so I am checking it out.

Thanks for you thoughts.

I had an Alox Farmer apart just recently, and it looks like the scales are plenty thick enough to drill/tap for a clip. I considered it for a moment, while I had the pieces on the bench, but decided that I would add a bail to the end instead, like the one on the old "electrician's knives" (not the Vic' electrician, the old US models). Now that I think about it, I may do both ways since I have two Farmers.

What kind of scales are on your SAK? D/T would be great on Alox, but I am not sure what I would do on one of the red plastic ones and I don't know if the scales on the black ones is solid or is a "shell," like the red ones.

Incidentally, if you DO have aluminum scales, and you DO decide to go the D/T route, load the flutes of the drill and the tap with vegetable shortening and you will get a beautiful cut on the drill and the tap.
