Why is the tang stamp on Swiss made Victornix SAKs in English? "Swiss Made" and "Stainless". Google tells me that the four official languages in Switzerland are Swiss German, French, Italian, and Romansh. Are all tang stamps in English or are the stamps changed depending on country to which the knives will be exported? Does anyone have a SAK with a Romansh tang stamp?

It is quiet, laid back day in my world and my mind wanders and wonders about important topics like this. :D

Since no one in Switzerland speaks English, the language has exotic connotations there, like French in this country. Using it marks you as one of the elite.

Since 2005 Victorinox have been stamped Swiss Made and Stainless. 1975-2005 blades were stamped Switzerland and both Stainless and Rostfrei. 1974 and earlier they were stamped Schwyz and Elinox. Victorinox now makes 60,000 knives each day, so I assume the blades are stamped in English as it's the international business language in the world.

Wow, that's a ton of knives everyday...be nice to get a freebee a day out of that 60,000 :D
