Sorry if this has been answered before, but after some searching I came up with nothing.

I was browsing a local antique shop and they had a case with a bunch of saks in it, but most of them had a logo I haven't seen before on the scales, it was a four pointed nautical star it seemed to me. I was just wondering what brand this was, after searching for a while it seems to me it isn't early Vic or wenger. Is this brand any good? Not looking to collect really but looking to grab a few for cheap to have around the house and garage and not worry too much about them.

Did it look like this? If so it is a cheap knock off. Stay far, far away. I would not suggest buying and SAK unless it is a legit Victorinox or Wenger.

According to SAKWiki.com, Richartz and Aitor made SAK look-a-likes which are useable tools, but lower quality than Victorinox and Wenger.

Assume everything else is junk.

That's the one. Thanks a lot for the info. I won't even bother for the $5. I'll just pick up a recruit or 2 to have laying around.

my 9 years old son lost his vic waiter, i was complaining about that and a mate of mine gave him one like this that he had in his car... when i sharpened it on a stone, the blade just popped off, scales ,pin, and so on also! went straight to the trash bin!
