My birthday just passed and one of the things I got was a small copper-colored SAK. On the back of the clamshell it says it is a Cadet (Copper). I already have an Officer model which looks like the same thing only silver colored. I couldn't find the Officer or the Cadet on the Victorinox or New Graham websites. Are the Officer and Cadet still in production? Is there a difference between the officer and cadet? And what is in the Cadet? It doesn't have any info on the clamshell pack.

You should be able to find some more info at www.swissarmy.com
The Cadet is 84mm long with a nail file instead of the reamer...it also has a keyring. The Soldier is a 91mm long model with a reamer instead of a nail file. Hope this helps.

It appears that there's no reall difference between the one I already have and the Cadet other than the color. Now I have another SAK to add into the rotation.

The Alox Copper Cadet you have is no longer in production. There are still a few available and they are kick but knives.

If I'm correct there is a nail file , main blade, can opener and a bottle opener.

Great SAK. :)

They are now also producing the Cadet II. It's a Cadet with a small blade instead of a nail file, or an alox Recruit.
The copper alox Cadets are very nice.

If I'm not mistaken, the copper Cadet was a promotion for Marlboro some time ago (you got a coupon for a free one that came in cartons of certain cigarette brands). The Marlboro copper cadet is the same as the alox Cadet (I). Hope this helps.

I wish those metal handled SAKs came in different colors.

Like what?

You can already get them in Copper, Silver, and Red. Who needs anything else? :D
