Hey guys, I've learned on these threads how to tap a wobble out of a slippie. However, my Sak Sportsman has developed a wobble of the main blade. You know, some Lateral play. How do I get rid of that? Can I do the same light tapping with a hammer and towel that I would on a slippie? Would that ruin the scales? Please enlighten me.

Just pop the scales off. Some gentle prying with a thin metal shim (I use a tiny screwdriver) pops them without breaking them, then they snap right back on.

Both Vic and Wenger have a lifetime fix or replace policy. You could just send it back. One word of caution. If the knife has sentimental value you run the risk of getting a new knife as opposed to yours back repaired. Just another idea.

In my sole experience, Vic replaced my knife with a NIB specimen of the same model. Great if your a user, and more economical than keeping repair staff for them.
