Does anybody out there in traditional land know how much of a hardness change there is between the blades on a SAK and the tools? Namely the screwdriver and can opener on the ALOX models.

Thank you for your time.

My collector's companion says
blades RC 56
wood saw, scissors and nail files RC 53
screw drivers, can opener, awls RC 52
corkscrew and springs RC 49

Thank you SAKs- I was wondering if the screwdriver would make a decent chisel, and it looks like it would, the Rc is much higher than I expected- thank you.

No prob. I have a Tinker for whittling that I modified the flat screwdriver into a chisel. It works fine on the softer woods. You just gotta be careful it doesn't close up on you.

Like all slipjoints! Good to hear that others have done it as well- I just don't know why it took me so long to think of it.
