SAK screwdriver changing color?

I bought my SAK cybertool (mostly for the screwdriver) when they first came out a long, long time ago (it seems like). But just the other day I was adjusting my mini mojo and noticed that the whole screwdriver has changed colors. I actually kind of like it, it's colored a little bronzish. The discoloration is even across the entire thing, including the "tang" of it (it looks intentional). Whatever causes it wouldn't have surprised me except that there's absolutely nothing with any discoloration even immediately next to it--everything else is as shiny as it was new.

I'm probably over looking something obvious, but what's going on there?

I do like the coloring.

I might suspect so if it weren't that only the screwdriver changed...it's like night and day. Also, I've had it for what, 8 years? It must have changed in just one or two days, because that's about how long I go without using it for this or the other.

If its a Victorinox or Wenger, I doubt that its rust or patina. I once kept a SAK in a saltwater-soaked rag for a week. It did absolutely nothing to the blade (although it corroded the aluminum liners).

Vic does not use the same metal for all it's parts. They use the strongest (RC of like 58) for their blade and it just goes down from there. I think the screwdriver has an RC of like 56 to 54. Anyway I'm sure that has something to do with why only the screwdriver is oxidating. BTW I'm pretty sure that's whats going on because if you had gotten anything on the knife it would have damaged more than just the screwdriver. Have a good day.
