I was thinking Victorinox should drop the bottle and can openers and concentrate on crafting small and medium flathead screwdrivers as standalone implements, not combos tacked onto those openers.

Opinions?

I would never want to give up the can opener. The combo can/bottle opener like on the Compact model is a good happy medium.

Opinions? Yeah, uhh, I'd say that's a really bad idea. First of all, why give up two tools? (That's what the cap lifter and can opener are.) Secondly, you have to remember that SAKs are huge sellers all over the world, not just in America. And in Europe, for instance, most bottled beverages require a cap lifter. And it's very common for folks travelling around in other countries to dine on the go - eating canned food in the train station, in the park, at camp, etc. Whereas here there are lots of canned goods that come with a pull-tab, most cans that I dealt with in Europe needed to be opened the old fashioned way. That's when I'd reach for my SAK. I lived over there for five years and used the caplifter and/or can opener every single day.
