Figured I'd start up a little discussion on optimal angles for the SAK (weng./vic.) steels. Seems to take an extremely keen edge for me no matter the angle or finishing grit. I did notice that with the relatively mild angle I have on the main blade of my tinker, when I accidentally sliced the table (well kinda more like hit) that small part of the edge where it hit instantly lost its shaving sharpness. Now, being on 55-56 Rc this isn't unexpected, but perhapse this is an indictation I could stand to obtuse the angles slightly?
