the really old sak in the wood box, the production model will look different and will be avaliable say in march, is called the heritage and is an new made elsener (victorinox) 1891 sak. unlike the original the springs are weaker, easyer to open the parts, all stainless blades instead of carbon and no forged parts. it comes with an nice box with paperwork and is limited edition, some # for swiss only and i will be able to supply some of them in usa witch makes them more spl. price will be high as this is an hard to make sak.

Thank you for sharing the pics and info from the Shot Show. Do you know if Victorinox will offer locking blades in the SwissChamp sized SAKs in the future? What about the SAKs that were going to have damasteel/damascus blades?

that are tough questions. regarding an thicker 91 or 111 size linerlock i dont now.

regarding the damasteel sak witch is an collaboration of mr elsener, victorinox & swissbianco i did got the news that they now actually work on "some damasteel blades" but i cant say yet more only show an pic of the prototypes we did

at the shot where 3 sutch protos by swiss army brand but not on display to not create an riot LOL. and my 3 pcs where secure stored there too and i did bring my 111 linerlock damasteel proto. there is right now NO plans to make that as an regular model, the pic was made prior assemble the sak.

a little off toppic, another idea/proto did not make it to the shot show but is now on its way to usa, the first 91 and 111 digitalcamo pattern sak, an +B special. theyr are test pcs and after meet the high quality standarts they may get made in an small run for +B.

One of the nice characteristics of SAKs is the corrosion-resistance. What about making a blade from H-1?
