I just picked up one of these today for $14.00. A local haedware store was getting rid of their knives and had them cut down to 1/2 price. This one came out of the display cabinent but it did have the box and papers. I've made a laynard with a small hangmans knot that sticks out of my pocket enough to allow the knife to sit upright. I think I'll try this one out for edc and put my Case Cigar whittler up for a bit. Blades were nice and sharp out of the display/box, but about ten strokes on my Spyderco Sharpmaker really brought them up to hair poppin' sharp. This is a fairly large knife at 3.5" in length, closed, and I can't find the tape measure to get the thickness but figure it is over 1/2". So far so good, but I did just get it this morning so time will tell if it rides shotgun in my front left pocket or not!

The 3 layer models fit my hand well and ride easy in the pocket, I like the hiker & super tinker quit a bit:D I edc'd a super tinker for a few years, and Use a hiker when in the woods.

The Super Tinker is indeed a great EDC. It was mine for many years. I'm EDCing the Huntsman Plus now days . . .

You're going to be real pleased with the ST for EDC. I go nowhere without mine. It does everything from cutting food, pulling staples, turning screws, prying lids to snipping with those handy scissors. That and a sebbie or a RAT3 make a nice pair. Congrats on a nice score

Didn't know the Super Tinkerer was so popular. Right now I'm pairing mine up with a ZT0200. So far the ST has ridden comfortably in my jeans and ridden without me taking a lot of notice of it's presence.

I saw a deal at a hardware store a few days ago, but half off of all the knives? What a steal!

I thought so myself. They only had about a dozen designs left and they were all the display knives. Besides the Victorinox, they also had several Winchesters of foreign make, and about two dozen Case knives of which only one was left! May go back and get it. It is a Trapper pattern with stag scales, only glanced at it so it may be the bone scales jigged and burned to look like stag, 2nd cut stag?
