Ok, I've been carrying an Alox classic for a long time...

the other day, I was a bonehead, and misplaced it.

Went over every square inch of where I had been / used it last - no luck

So, I figure I have more than enough classics to replace the lost one, I'd just carry a red, or black classic...

It didn't "feel right"...

reaching into the pocket feeling the smooth sides of the scales...

using it, didn't feel the same...
functionality wise - the same...
but different...

so I broke down and bought a replacement Alox Classic...

Feels nice and familiar when I use it...

Life can continue now...

This is the first time I can remember losing a knife, and going out and replacing it with an identical model.
Usually I would lose a knife and just replace it with a similar one (stockman for stockman, etc...)

Guess I'm addicted to my little Alox Classic!

I felt the same way when I lost my Red Alox Pioneer. Granted, that one was a gift from my girlfriend. I was all set to replace it, until I searched her truck one more time and found it under the seat.

That's one good thing about SAK's. If you have to replace one, it doesn't hurt your wallet too much.

yeah they are like that. I have a rambler on my keychain for the toothpick and tweezers, and a larger SAK (usually a Cadet, Farmer or Sportsman). But I tend to stick an alox classic in my pocket too, just 'cause i like it.

"billinvegas"
i never did take the vicky classic/SD as something serious; well, that was not until the alox scales came along...my world changed!
small was cool, and minimalist didn't necessarily mean flimsy.
it's one sweet knife i wouldn't mind having a dozen of.

I just wish they did the Rally or Rambler in Alox; I find the bottle opener/phillips head to be the most useful tool on those mini-SAKs so I've never bothered with Classics.

I never had much use for the "Classic" either until as a joke being a smart a.. I gutted and skinned out a deer that a friend shot one fall with it... I've been carrying a "classic" ever since - a ruby at the moment - but I'll have to get one of the alox models to try!
Peace
Revvie
