So are Victorinox Soldiers and the Alox "Pioneer" series 91mm closed length?
Well, everything from Victoinox tells us so -
Victorinox brochure circa ~1988
Victorinox brochure circa 1995
Swiss Army Brands (USA) Victorinox catalog 2003 -
www.Victorinox.ch page on the Soldier (in French)
or Soldier (in German)
note: European languages chosen because they use the metric system.
SwissArmy.com page on the Soldier
BUT while photographing the Soldier against some of my standard 91mm Victorinox SAKs I noticed first the main blade seemed longer - then while aligning the bodies the Soldier was actually longer.
Not by much, the Soldier measures 94mm closed vs. the standard SAKs 91mm closed -
I don't have any of the other full sized Alox "Pioneer" series models, as shown in the brochures above - to measure.
Can others who do have them, please be kind enough to measure them, and please let us know if they are 91mm or 94mm?
Thanks,
