I have both, more Vickys, than Wengers, but I prefer the Vickys, they just seem to be better designed, and made. The 3 things I do like about the Wengers ,locking screwdriver, scissors, and I just like the way the magnifying glass looks:cool: .

What's your preference?

I prefer the V'nox. I think their F&F is better and the designs are geared more towards my taste.

Another vote for Viks. Expecially their metals. Although I also like the wenger scissors for things other than paper or fine work. (e.g. cutting small wire, nails, etc.)

I prefer Wenger for some reasons and Victorinox for others. In the end a SAK is a SAK is a SAK. They're all amazing little tools for the money.:)

Victorinox all the way. I carry a Super Tinker every day along with a classic on my keychain.

I like having the large and small blade of the S. Tinker. The large is sharpened at 40 degrees inclusive(20 on each side) with a semi rough cutting edge for daily cutting chores. While th esmall is sharpened at 30 degrees inclusive(15 each side) and stropped/polished to a crisp scary stupid sharp edge. I never use the small blade enless I have to cut out a deep splinter or need a blade sharp enough to handle field surgery

The only 2 SAKs I own now are a Workchamp and a Classic, so it would appear that I like the Victorinox brand the best.

I have about 4 Wengers and about 100 V-SAK's. The Wengers, IMHO, are good knives but the quality and workmanship o the Vic's is hrd too beat. For one, I had a Swisschamp for about 10 years. It has been through all manner of abuses. I still use it and it's part of my EDC.

I have three SAK's. 1 Wenger and 2 Victorinox. If you check my sig you will see I carry Victorinox's as part of my EDC. Soldier in my pocket, classic on my keys.

My first SAK was a Victorinox and I've been happy with this brand ever since, therefore I see no reason why I should switch to Wenger.

The Wengers are alright, the Victs are just better – at least they seem to be a little better made, usually come sharper and have more useful combinations of tools.

I do like Wenger’s lock screw drivers, scissor spring, locking blade option and can opener (for opening cans I prefer the Wenger; although you don’t get the little screw driver tip that Victorinox has). Wenger’s tweezers and tooth pick are held more securely in the handles, so they are less likely to fall out and get lost.

I don’t like the Wenger awl or the little nail file thingy that they have on many of their knives instead of the small knife blade. And Wenger doesn’t sell an eye glass screw driver for inside the cork screw (the Vict mini screw driver won’t fit in the Wenger cork screw).

Try one of the newer (last five years) V-nox eyeglass screwdrivers. Mine fit the Wengers okay. They're a little loose but they will fit.

Your are right Gadgetman7, I tried the a fairly new Vict mini driver on the cork screw on my Wenger Backpacker and it did fit – almost. Since the cork screws are a little different, the driver would only go so far into the Wenger cork screw – leaving just enough sticking out to keep the cork screw from folding all the way closed. A little trimming on the end of the mini driver and it should fit the Wengers just fine.

I have six or seven SAKs. They are a mixture of Victorinox and Wenger. Actually, as far as quality is concerned, the two brands are about the same.

However, I have a sentimental attachment to Victorinox.

I own maybe 5 Wengers and a whole bunch of Victorinoxes. I carry V-nox SAKs (a black Classic, as well as either a Tinker or a Soldier). I feel both brands are very well-made, but the V-noxes seem to be of a better quality of the two. V-noxes also feel a bit more "streamlined" if that makes any sense, and the cutting blades are superior, IMO.
