Sal,

I just purchased a Spyderco Tri Angle Sharpmaker 204. I have my knives, woodworking tools and kitchen cutlery in tip top condition! (BTW wanted to let you know how helpful the video is!!)

My wife is a nationally known quilter and has several tools called rotary cutters. They look like a pizza cutter but with very sharp disks to cut through layers of fabric. Is it possible to sharpen the round cutting disks of these tools on the Spyderco system?
If so, can you explain the procedure?

Thank you!

John - I have done similar blades usding the ceramic as a file and sharpeing by hand. A fixture would be nice as it would aid in accuracy of the bevel.

Imagine a round board a little larger than the blade. a dowel in the center so it can be rotated. a small ramp located to permit one of the ceramic stones to match the bevel. strokes go toward the center of the blade so the "scratches" are perpendicular to the edge.

I would guess it to be single bevel, if so, acfter the edge has peen sharpened on the bevel, lay the stone flat on the back side stroking towards the center ( a circular motion works well) and cut off any burr that might have developed. If it is double bevel, repeat and alternate until sharp.

You can also do it by hand if your skilled in sharpening.
