Ok, no he's not. But he is overseas without internet access. He wanted everyone to know that he is remiss not to be here on a daily basis, and when he can he will be back full-force. The crew and I are trying to keep up on pertinent posts, so please be patient....Thanks!

Danelle,

Thanks for the update. It seems like you, the Spyderco crew and forumites have all been doing a good job keeping everyone informed.
With as much traffic that goes through this forum, I'm glad to see that more of the Spyderco team is contributing to keep us up to date. Hope Sal has a good trip and makes it back soon.

Thanks,
Ken

Danelle, because of a topic under discussion elsewhere on the forum, I was reminded of a conversation I had several years ago (I believe it was with Sal), During which I was told that the Coast Guard was buying the 6 1/2 inch Spyderco kitchen utility knife for cutting six inch mooring lines. Is there any way you can verify that?
Thanks

Well, no news is just that..no news. I talked to our Chief Engineer who has been here for 6 years, and our Purchasing Manager who has been here longer, I believe. Neither can confirm or deny, and made these funny scrunched up faces when i asked them.

Guess this one will have to come from Sal...

Well, I figure that I should answer this one since the Coast Guard is one of my accounts. The USCG has bouth some of the kitchen utility knives from us, for what purposes I don't know.....they only tell me what they're doing sometimes. The knives that they have been purchasing in large #s, however, are the C14 Rescue and the C45 Rescue Jr. These guys seem to really find these pieces useful.
I hope this is of some help.

Congratulations Danelle, even as a junior member you were always tops, but now, Wow!
You and the rest of the Spyderco folks really do make this a pleasant place to be....

Danelle,
So if Sal is gone does that mean you can give away a bunch of free stuff to forumites? (ha ha)

OOhhhh that's a good one......slapping my knee...

Folks,

Almost all the US knife compay owner/presidents are in Europe for the big show there. Don't expect them back before the middle of next week.

I'm very impressed with the fact that someone is watching the cyber front and doing a good job of getting information out to the participants while the normal moderator is off site. Well done!

TANSTAAFL,

Mike
