I love my new Spyderhawk. The blade is just beautiful. I was wondering if there are any plans to make a Spyderhawk with G-10 instead of the FRN. I know it would cost more, but it'd sure be awesome! Or perhaps even a Spyderhawk with the stainless steel Endura handle?

I would buy a G-10 version...PE would be nice.

Haven't seen this issue in several months...but it has come up before.
We even tried to put together enough commitments to justify a sprint run in G-10, but wasn't to be. Those who would commit would pre-pay the $100 or so price, but guess what...more wishes than $$. I seem to recall only about 35 or so solid commitals, when we needed at least 100.

So if anyone wants to try again, let me know.

Hi Kevan,

Glad you like the new SpyderHawk. It is a great design.

What Hawkbill said is true. For Spyderco to offer requested variations we have to have some assurance the buying public will actually purchase them. Last week while at SFO I noticed there were still lots and lots of Forum SpyderHawks.

Hard to belive that the forum hawks are not gone yet.Only 300 and not a bad price. They will for sure to be highly prized in a couple years.Just take a look at the blue Native and forum Military, try to find one.

Just 'cause you can't readily find the forum natives and militaries doesn't mean they are very collectible, just a short run. The blue native comes up for sale occasionally and I've not seen it sold for more than it cost, although it has not been sold for much less than cost either.

Pesonally I'd like a PE spyderhawk, but not so much as to pay full price and have it with a forum logo. There could be others who feel the same way. If I wasn't a knife nut, I'd probably prefer the spyderhawk in serrations, makes it more of a ripper, which is appears to the the original intention of the knife design. The G-10 Harpies were a disappointment to Spyderco, and a bunch were finally sold off as closeouts for ~40% of list price by Smokey Mountain Knifeworks.
