Hi. I thought that cleaning my military had completely fixed it. However, when the knife is in the locked position, and I wiggle it up and down, I can feel some movement and hear some metal hitting. If I were to send this back to Spyderco, could they eliminate this and make it rock solid? If so, where do I need to send it? If the knife didn't move like this, I would consider it the perfect knife. Thanks, this is really bothering me.

Well, I just posted my explanation on adjusting the eccentric pivot. Check it out.
Like I said, after adjusting my Starmate there is very slight vertical play, and that's as good as it can be adjusted with the eccentric pivot. To make the lockup perfect would require replacing either the stop pin or lockbar with one slightly different. At least that's how I figure it. I could be wrong. But I'm happy with it the way it is. If I lived in the U.S. I might be more willing to send my knife in to Spyderco. But since I live in Canada I don't want to send the knife across the border. It could be a problem.

Spyderco has one very important additional option available to them..... replacement.
IF
you haven't voided your warranty.

Well, I havn't done anything to void the warranty. I sent an email to Sal to explain the problem but, have not heard back from him yet. Hopefully they can fix this.

Hi Zombie. I would suggest contacting Mike at Warrantee & Repair if you feel you have a problem. What are you using this knife for?

Nothing heavy duty...just EDC. The roughest thing the knife has encountered is cutting cardboard. I'll contact CS and send it back ASAP.
