Hi,

Does Sal or anyone here recommend a place to get a civilian trainer ?

Sal - Was a prototype ever made ?

What is the minimum run for s civilian trainer spyderco can make ?

I have a hard plastic Civilian trainer that I got from Edge Molding Co.I was told that they are of business now.I also have an Endura trainer from them too.

I ordered one from James Keating a few years back. I *think* it was made by Edge Molding, but I am not sure.

My company DRAGON's TOOTH used to make PolyResin trainers as well.
We used to have a Civilian trainer.. I don't make them anymore..
I might still have the molds in storage.,,where they'll stay...

As far as I know Edge Molding was run by Steve Hooter who worked with Jim Keating. Edge Molding closed & they stopped making training knives a long time ago..
Jim might have a few hiding somewhere.

If you just want safe trainers..aluminum or plastic, you might ask Bob Burgee @ www.trainingblades.com His company Edges2 makes great trainers..
Ray Dionaldo makes great trainers as well..Ray has several models of Spydercos and he might just whip one up for you...
Martin Mueller @ www.gunting-museum.com makes really cool abs type plastic trainers..tough stuff! He and his dad might be able to make something very reasonable..He puts in all the grindlines etc..
I love his trainers..
Frank Olesen @ SKUNKWORKs might be able to make you one..509-534-6113
of course any custom knife maker could make you one..
Now if you want a funtional working DRONE?
I guess you got to harrass Sal & Spyderco....
but I guess anyone who makes folders could make you a custom Civilian DRONE..

be safe

Bram
