I bought a g 10 harpy a week ago and I love it. Extremely well built with a unbelieveable blade. One problem though it is a bit to small in both blade and handle. I looked at the civilian and while it's a awesome knife its utility is lacking somewhat because of its design and purpose. I have yet to see a Matriarch anywhere, I know they are LEO only. What I would like to see is a g-10 handled Endura sized knife with a harpy type blade. That would be perfect. Sell it for an mrsp of 150 so the punks can't get it, give it a benign peaceful name like the Daisy or Rainbow so the public won't be afraid of it, and I guarantee you'll have a winner. I'll put my order in as soon as you tell me you've built one. In the mean time could you make the endura with the G 10 handle. I'll take a fully serrated one when it's ready. Thanks.

Toecutter - We have a design, based on the Endura handle. Concept Model only at this time.

Sal,

As you well know, I've been touting The Harpy/Merlin as the ideal whitewater rescue knife for a number of years. The only improvement I'd make would be a slightly larger blade on say a Rescue or Endura handle. The Matriarch is a little too much for the general public, but a just slightly larger Harpy would have all the safety advantages of the blade shape and be easier to hang onto in swiftwater. While I have no problems using the Harpy as is, feedback I've gotten fron River Guides and Instructors has been appreciative of the safety and utility of the blade shape, but wanting something a little more substantial in the grip. Making a cut under water in fast current can be interesting to say the least, and a bigger blade with more to hang onto would definitely make this an unbeatable rescue tool. See you at Blade.

Mike - I have a proto designed by a South African MBC instructor.

We can discuss it at Blade.

Endura is smaller than Military or police , and has a diffferent blade shape. The rookie is about an inch and a half smaller than an Endura. I Want A BIGGER HARPY!

Put in my order for two Endura sized Harpy's one in G-10 and other Zytel (for the reversible clip). Recently I became a convert to this blade shape thanks to Sal and others who have posted on this fourm. The Civilian is the next knife on my wish list, thanks Sal for changing my opinions on what a knife should do, CUT.

Of course I would need a couple!!! I MIGHT even consider replacing my G-10 Harpy with this king-sized utility blade!
