I just got my plain edge military yesterday from my dealer who got it from Blue Ridge Knives. It has a polished clip instead of black.I REALLY wanted a black clip. Will Spyderco exchange clips or do I have to order a black clip, and how do I do this?I and he thought all of the new militarys would now have the black clip.THANKS for your help!

I like the stainless clip much better since you don't have to worry about it coming off. Some of the new Military's still had the silver clip. As long as you have a 3 screw clip then it's the newer model

I forgot one other detail. The clip takes two hands to place in a pocket. The tip seems to be pointed down toward the handle to much,so the only way to get it on your pocket is to hold the knife with one hand, take the other hand and pry the clip up enough to slide on your pocket edge.I tried bending it up a little, but now it is almost to loose, and I still have to use 2 hands to "pocket" the knife.Any suggestions? THANKS again

WASP,

Hello. This is an interesting question. I have dealt with many Military models and never had this clip problem.

The handle material, G-10, is nice and grippy (technical terminology) and this could be causing part of your problem. I like to place two fingers, index and middle, on either side of the clip. I hold the fabric's edge firmly with these two fingers as I push the knife into my pocket with the palm of my hand.

I don't mean to be presumptuous, but it takes some practice and reptition to find a comfortable style you like.

Good luck,

Birchum

You can buy those black clips from Spyderco for about 3.75 each. I got a couple for my Starmates a while back. They use the same three point clip style.
