I have one of your 204 Tri-Angle Sharpmakers; great tool, I use it all the time, and it has made all my knives betterand safer at what they do...EXCEPT ONE!!!

I have a Livesay "FLAT" ground, as he calls it, tanto-style boot size knife. I love the knife, and have called upon it to do things I never thought I would, but I cannot get it HALF as sharp as I can get you products, as well as those of the other guys!

I followed the directions to a "T" even trying the 30 deg back bevel to start the blade over again; all I get is a really polished edge, that can't even slide through paper, let alone shave!

I realize the knife itself has a great deal to do with its ability to take an edge, for it is 5160 spring steel, but I was wondering if there was anything you could rek'mnd I try...

Thanks!

Dangelo - Get a 10X - 12X magnifier. Look at the edge closely. Look at the edge of another you've made sharp. Look at the edge of one you are sharpening, from beginning to end (every 10 strokes or so).
