Sal, I just picked up your little Wharncliff, and just love it. I got to thinking though - how about a couple of FRNs' (similar to Delica/Enduras/Natives) with the Wharncliff blades between 2.5 - 4 inchs. A 3.5 'incher'would be perfect.

Please give this your better metals - VG-10 and or S30V. How about it?

What do you other knifenuts think? Is this a great idea, or am I truly just nuts? :D :D

If you want to hear from Sal, better post in the Spyderco forum under makers/manufacturers.

I like em, not alot of em out there though. I got that Spyderco Centofante. The blade was a little on the long side for my tastes, Shoulda got the small one. Myerchin makes some but their folders have such a gritty action. that and the dopey double lock for the blade and marlin spike. The thumb groves on the back on the blade are sharp.

My god I am full of complaints today!

Personally, I think they are ugly. But for what purposes was the Wharncliffe blade invented? and what is it used for mostly as a profession or hobby?

I've got the Bob Terzuola with the origininal aluminium scales. My favourite knife of all time (althoug it's now being overtaken by my Military).

It's a usefull design because it's very strong all the way to the tip and very easy to keep razor sharp because of the straight edge.

I have a Myerchin rigging knife, stainless handle, plain edge, marlinspike. I think it looks cool, and the lock is quite interesting, the way it works on both the blade and the spike. The action is okay by me -- it's not as smooth as a Mini-Griptilian or anything, but it does alright. I think the wharncliff blade shape is great.

My marlinspike actually sees use when I tie turk's heads, knotted keychains and Monkey's Fists in paracord.

Plus, the knife is a sentimental keepsake because it was a gift from my mother on her last Christmas.

I sure like Wharncliffes with spyderholes. That´s why I had this one made by Kevin Wilkins. :)

The only thing holding me off from the Kiwi are its handles, I would prever G10 or CF inserts.

This is exactly what I am looking for! what a beauty!

In VG-10, or S30V as a production knife........oh man!!!!!:D :D :D :D
