once I got my civilian about 3 weeks ago. I was thinking wow! this fits my hand so damn well. Then it it hit me there is a conspiracy here!

so does the military, so does the police, the endura. I have to know so I can sleep at night whose is your hand model it might be my twin brother my parents never told me about.

I know I got some knives for life thanks

Chris,

That means we must be related.

Hey steve do you find that other companies just don't fit your hand as well as spyderco. I wonder how companies decide ergonomics....do they sit around a board room and have execs put the knife in everyones had and then vote?

the only other knife that feels good to me is bm afck , emerson's cqc7.

alot of bm's new designs realy feel terrible in my hand 710,330,darkstar,alot of pardue and elisewitz don't measure up. plus I feel bm is getting to artsy fartsy where as bm is really utilitarian.
form follows function but phsycedellic colors come follow acid trips. not using knives. I know this first hand now I follow function

kershaw ,buck, gerber just don't do it.

that just means that sal either has stolen hand prints of real people or he has found the secret to creating comfortable knives.

Funny, AFCK and CQC7 were my regular carry knives before I got a Gunting. We really are related.

Sal has a direct line to JoJo's psychic network. He has her predict what will create the perfect knife for the largest % of people before he goes to production.

Really!

Funny, I find an AFCK (the last time I held one, which was sometime ago) to be too small for my hand. The Gunting is just about perfect, but I wish the hump was moved up a little on the blade so I could get a fuller, more comfortable grip on the handle in closed position.

Burke your hand must be on steriods

I do admit that the finger groove on the afck
pushes ,my hand back a bit too much. My wife bought that for me as a wedding gift 5 years ago. I carried for 3 years then I decided if I lost it it had too much sentimental value.

so I got some more knives, and spyderco were the onl ones I bought since my hand fit so well. I need to have my pinky finger to have a good secure grip. That is why the military and the civilian are by far my most comfortable grips. but the endura and police feel good too. especially when your thumb is up on that ramp.

Hi Chrisaloia. Thanx for the compliment.

Ergos are very important to me and I will make many refined samples of one of my designs and put them in many different size hands before we go forward with the design.

Yeah, I have big palms and short, fat little fingers. The knife that fit my hand best, ever, was an XL CQC7 from benchmade. The Military has almost the same handle shape, but the CQC7 was straight-backed, instead of curved, which I found more hand-filling.

Thanks for answering. I was having a little fun with the ergos thing.

take it easy

I don't know about the rest of you but I myself am thrilled that we have so many quality knife companies. I think it is great that there is such a wide variety for us to choose from. The BM 710 for instance fits me perfectly. I agree spyderco makes excellent knives but I never liked the steel handles due to the weight, which is why my Lum is in route to me.
I would like to thank all the quality companies for taking the time and effort to appeal to all are different requirements. Keep up the good work, and thanks to Sal and others who spend time in the forums to find out what all of us want.
