I received a Temperance fixed blade recently as part of a passaround and it's incredible. I love this knife and will be buying one immediately.

I have a review at http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=248506 if you want to see my full thoughts on it.

As I said there, I don't think it's perfect (I'm hard to please) but I can't imagine it being a better base for my perfect knife.

It's just one more to add to the list of great things that Spyderco has brought us. And in this case, it was Sal personally. Thank you very much, Sal.

I find the Spyderco fixed blade knives, especially the Moran, Perrin, and Temperance, to be the most under rated under valued knives in the market place. These knives are great! Design, quality, everything is as good as it gets and the prices are reasonable.

I especially love the Perrin. Can't say enough good things about it.

I am expecting a Ronin early next week. That is the size knife I've been looking for as a fixed blade EDC.

Thanks Sal.

I purchased a temperance FB just last week and agree that it is a great blade. I don't know if it will replace the Perrin as my primary bush knife (since I agree that the handle is a little slick) but time will tell.
Another winning FB design ....well done Sal and Spyderco

What about some checkering on the handle?? Or some "Tommy Tape"?? I know "sc_rebel" does a good checking job. Just wondering.

I couldn't play with it too much, as it wasn't mine. When I get mine in a week or two, I think I'll try skateboard tape first. In time, it'll be my own little work of art.

I should be receiving a Perrin in a day or two, I'll have to see how that fits me.

I heard that the Perrin knife is inspired from a knife the French partisans used during WW II. Later it was found that the infamous partisan knife was just an ordinary kitchen knife.
And looking at the Perrin street bowie, I tend to believe the story is true. ;)

I've put "Tommy tape" on one of my Perrin's. Made a big difference. Then when I get tired of it, I'll just cut it off. I found mine at Wal-Mart, but here is the website: www.tommytape.com

Thanks for the tommy tape tip ( my english teacher would be proud of my alliteration) I found the tape at a local Can Tire store and it really is simple to use but gives a nice "grippy" feel to the handle of the temperance.
