Sales thread question

I read the rules and I guess I need a little clarification. I have a for sale ad in the folder section and both items have sold. Do I officially need to have that thread locked before I can open up another sales thread?

I change the title to closed or sold but you don't have to you can also lock it yourself but you also don't have to it's a good idea to do that so everyone knows they are gone.

Locking the thread is preferred but not mandatory. You're allowed to start one thread per day per Exchange forum. If you started the thread you mentioned yesterday, you can start another today in the same forum provided you are selling different items. You can't list the same items again until 14 days have passed. There is no requirement for a thread to be locked prior to starting a new one.
