I’m speaking about this humble, handy tree

There are many of these trees here around. Their young branches in fact were (and are often nowadays) used to fix the vines branch to their supports

The yellow willow’s branches are really flexible and tough at the same time

Let’s try to use them as an emergency rope

It works, for sure is not robust as paracord, but as an emergency rope it works pretty well (and is completely eco-friendly!)

Ciao,

Thanks. That is interesting and useful information. I must look for that tree around here.

Salix viminalis was often used for basket making because of its long, flexible shoots. In fact, one of its common names is Basket Willow.
