I know many people here are into quality hiking boots. I've certainly expressed my love for these Salomons before as have others. I just got a new pair yesterday. My first pair are still good to wear and I will continue to wear those probably daily since I've worn down the hiking tread. I'll treat these next ones better and try to keep them for purely "off road" use as intended. They are just so goddamn comfortable that I couldn't help but wear my first pair any chance I got.
They really are great boots. Whatever mold Salomon uses to form their boots just seems to be perfect for my feet. Most other shoes/boots I wear 11-11.5 but these Salomons are 10.5 and fit PERFECT. They're very snug and tight but not to the point of discomfort, they literally fit me perfect. Obviously everyone is different though of course. They have a Goretex lining to protect against water and wind which is great for hiking/snow. I will be getting the larger Quest boots from Salomon as well eventually for use in snow or really hard hiking/trekking if I ever need to. Yeah these are expensive but with as comfortable as they are for me I just don't care. They're well worth it in my opinion.
The quality is absolutely there too. The first pair I have pictured below are at least 4 years old, I forget exactly. The 1st year I didn't wear them every day but the past 3 years I have. However I should note that I wear steel toe boots during the work day so these were worn to and from work but I did wear them all weekend days whenever going out or after work during the week. They've held up great. I did wear out the tread as I said of course but that is to be expected. As far as the stitching goes which is the biggest thing I am honestly blown away. They have not torn or ripped in ANY area where there is stitching. They have not started to come apart what so ever which is excellent. The new updated look is pretty sweet too. Just thought I'd share!
