Salsa Cobra Hood Wave!

Some will like this, but for me it’s another reason to lose the hood. When drawing your knife, use your thumb and press outward pushing the knife against the pocket, at the same time angle the knife (the pivot end) slightly forward, now draw! You end up with a knife halfway open and if you twist, your wrist, outward the blade will flick open but if you're not paying attention and try to put your thumb in the hole, DOH! I came across this just now, when making a sandwich, I think it’s a liability for an otherwise great knife!

Right now I have to agree. After 2.5 months of flawless operation, I found that my Ti Salsa has opened a few times as I've drawn it over the past few weeks.

I would like to try a Hood-less Salsa by way of comparison.
