I was considering one of these for EDC rotation with my
faithful "Cricket" ;) I like the combo edge & cobra hood
for opening, but I tend to disdain the "compression lock"
for it's tendency to work open in "tip up" configuration
( I had this same problem with my "Vesuvius" )It looks like
alot of blade for a little knife & I think it would shine in
day-to-day tasks, especially with the combo edge.
What do the rest of you forumite(s) think?

Someone correct me if I’m mistaken I think the Salsa has the most evolved Compression lock to date. My Salsa has never come open on its own I might add neither has my Temperance folder. Vesuvius on the other hand, from what I have read is vulnerable to opening. Salsa is near impossible to flick open, as an example of how it stays closed.

I mean to say, flick open using wrist action.

Good info roguesoul. ;)
If this is the case with the Salsa, I'm "on" for one.
Don't know about a Lil' Temperence just yet, but come time,
I'll see. BTW : I wasn't insinuating that the blade could
be "flicked" open, just that it could "work" itself open
during rigorous activities ( like running ;)) but, as I said,
if this is NOT the case with the Salsa, then it's a "go" for me.

My Salsa is very secure, and doesn't open whatsoever in my pocket. This knife has been my first compression lock and I am very impressed with its strength and solid lockup...

Another great thing about the salsa is the smooth bearing...
