I've got the itch for a my first serrated H1 Spydie, but I'm stuck between these two. If anyone has some experience with and/or a comparison photo of the two, that would be very much appreciated.

Ive got a salt 1 which is great, but id probs rather have the dragonfly, and then use my delica for other tasks.

When did the DF salt come out ?? I thought it was only made in vg-10 and aus 8.

I have a DF se that I've been carrying in my lr pocket for a couple of years plus. I always have a big folder in my rf pocket too. The DF is so small I hardly know it's there
but it will cut just about anything.

I had a Salt se but I traded it. I didn't use it enough.
I'd go with the a DF in se....as a second knife. You'll hardly notice it where ever you carry it.:D:thumbup:

probably depends on how you plan on using it.

i had a salt 1, sold it.
i still have a G-10 dragonfly. but i got my dragonfly as a bare minimum, lightweight EDC.

the salt1 doesnt have much of a tip for piercing, but if you plan on getting the SE version the salt 1 is a better cutter cause the cutting edge of the dragonfly is less than 2 inches.
salt 1 is also easily to use for me. bigger spydie hole, and larger handle for a more secure grip.

I just got the salt 1 serrated edge because I live and am always on the water, but wanted the dragonfly 2 serrated edge for the bathing suit. The salt 1 might be to much for board shorts, as far as trying to ignore the feeling of the knife swaying around when i'm swimming or running around (I hope not). I just feel the dragonfly's blade is to short to make serrations practical and I will not get the non serrated edge for H1 steel. But I don't really know, Ive never held, tried or used a dragonfly in person, I never had a folder under 3". The handle on the Salt1 is wider than I thought when clipped to the pocket. That blunted blade tip and thicker butt on the handle seems to make it much wider than the delica when folded. Very comfortable to grip though

The Salt 1 is going to be updated with a Delica4 handle, when that comes out I will be looking at the SE version for sure.

Thats good to hear, for as light as the salt 1 is, it's not as compact as I expected it to be. But I sill like it a lot. I hope the new version comes with a slightly pointier tip. I like the idea of the rounded tip around the water (especially for bare feet on boats where the knife falls off surfaces a lot), but unless i'm only planning being prepared for rescues the salt ones tip needs to rise up a bit, more like the pacific salt. There is too much shiny blade showing when clipped in pocket do to the rounding toward the tip, along with the wide handle butt there is just too much showing out of the pocket for such a light/bright yellow knife IMHO. Great knife, but I was 50/50 with getting the Dragonfly. Its tough when there are so many options with Spyderco.....1st world problems...... Yes I was doing research, and this thread came up :)....
