Hi Guys,

I disassembled my Salt 2 Lc200N and found this weird machine marking on the tang of the knife. I have never seen a Spyderco blade with this kind of marking. I have seen the round holes on some of the US made models, but this seems like a defect?? Would a marking like this so close to the pivot and lock cut-out not cause a weak spot?? Has anyone else noticed this on their Salt 2 LC200N models?

Pretty sure I've seen similar marks on other blades. Stress relief? Locating mark?

You can so stuff like that without having to worry a lot as long as it's done before the heat treat.

I am sure the cut was made before heat treat & I am not too worried that it would be a weak spot as the salt 2 is not a hard use folder. I'm still curious if this is normal (@Sal Glesser ). Just a bit annoyed that if this is not normal, how it got past QC as it is something that can't be missed.
