When the Salt series first came out, I bought a Salt I. It's been one of my favorites, and a constant summer time companion for for a few years now. Fishing, wading around floundering, crabbing, scalloping, snorkeling and such.

I usually carry IWB of my trunks. But just the past couple of weeks I've dropped it out three times surf fishing and once snorkeling. Luckily, and due to the yellow handle, I've been able to find it. Wanting something more secure, I came up with this.

Since it would not be on a belt, I made the clip tight, put a catch lip on the bottom of the clip, and covered the inside of the clip with 3M grip tape.

Came out nice and thin. Contoured, smooth, and no sharp edges on the the back, it's comfortable against skin.

I haven't been swimming with it yet, but it seems very comfortable. One thing is for sure, the knife is not going anywhere!

nice man.. good injun'uity (yes i purposely spelled it that way lol).... one question though. why not just put it in your pocket? i had an old gerber that was the same size as the LB's and i swam with it multiple times and never came out (perhaps i was lucky).. just axin' yo.... :-)

glad to see that knife holds up to your abuse. i know you use them a lot for some of your cool ass outings.. i would love to go with ya on some of those but we live to far a part lol.. NC here-- Florida right?

is that one a straight edge or serrated? if its straight would you rather have gotten the serrated?

Some of my trunks don't have pockets or just a small back pocket, and others the pockets are too shallow for the Salt 1, although the Lady Bug rides fine in em. Also, I just like something a bit more secure. I also like to have it instantly accessible, especially when fooling with crab traps or lines. I have a bit of a phobia about getting tangled up. Hit me up when you get your LB, I've got an idea for them. If I can find what I'm looking for, I'll make you one and send it up there to you.

hells yeah!

what edge does your LB have?

Both the VG-10 and H-1 have plain edges. If I had to do it over again, I'd probably get a serrated H-1. That steel seems to perform better with serrations and I don't do any delicate work with it like I do the VG-10. I stropped my VG-10 one to a convex edge, it is literally hair popping sharp, and keeps that edge a long time.

Oh, and my Salt I is plain edge. Next H-1 folder I get will be serrated. I'm thinking I want a hawkbill.

Love that first photo. Very cool.

I certainly can appreciate a guy that knows what he needs and how to make it. That is very respectable!

Fantastic knife too. I love the Salts.

You have my respect and admiration for a problem well and truly (and elegantly) solved.
And those are some very nice photo's you've shared.
Thanks.
