I'm not a fisherman or am I around a lot of lakes or oceans. Which knife would you recommend, the Salt non-serrated or the Endura?
Are the actions and size the same? I know I'm jumping around a lot but I plan on getting more Spyderco's in the future depending on finances.

If you want plain edge and don't need extreme corrosion resistance then go with the Endura. Serrated H1 is a great performer but in pe you will likely be happier with vg10.

I'm obviously not surfingringo, but I believe he would say yes.

But here is a better question: Is there a reason a serrated Salt should not be in a collection?

Thank you. Do you think a serrated salt should be in a collection?

Hahaha...come on, I know you're new around here but I think you know how I'm going to answer that question! :p :D

Honestly, Spyderco kind of revolutionized the serrated folding knife. There is something very "Spyderco" about a knife with their patented serrations and they are amazing performers. So whether it be from a practical or collectors point of view, I think every Spyderco fan should own at least one serrated knife. From a pure users point of view I usually recommend the Pacific Salt. From a collectors point of view I would recommend the serrated stainless Police model. It is probably the most iconic Spyderco knife that is still in production.

Yassss. Grab an SE Pacific Salt. Big, tough, lightweight, great performer and rustproof. It singlehandedly fills a lot of niches that you could probably buy 5 other knives to fill. Have one riding IWB right now.

I would only recommend h1 in extremely corrosive environments. I have a serrated salt that rolled and dulled faster than any other. It was so badly damaged I sent it in for service. Got it back and went easy on it. Dulled very quickly cutting visqueen. So unless you are a diver or deckhand or cut open bags of chemicals I wouldn't recommend one.

I really wanted a hawkbill, and I also really wanted a SE knife, so I ended up with a Tasman. I've not had any issues with rolling, and I find this knife fairly easy to put an edge on. I'd buy it again.

With that being said, given your scenario, I'd choose the Endura. I chose the waved model, my brother decided on a purple FFG. Both are great, though the FFG is a much better slicer.

The Pacific Salt is a bit lighter than the Endura and I believe it has a slghtly shorter handle with about the same amount of blade. I prefer the slicing performance of a flat ground blade so I own the Endura (but I also have a SE Salt 1 which gets a lot of use). VG 10 is one of the more corrosion resistant stainless steels, so with a minimum of care it will be fine around water. The Salt folders need absolutely no attention around salt water and will never corrode. I find the SE version I have to be incredible at holding an edge, the PE version was too soft for me.

I have a PE Salt and a PE Endura.........for your use.....go with the Endura. PE H1 is quite soft and dulls quicker than VG10.

I are you gonna take it ''in the ocean'' diving?

yes: get a salt

No: screw H1, get an endura, it is plenty stainless for you needs.

Also the salt is linerless
