OK at first i was thinking of just getting the lady bug salt.. its a bit small so i was looking at the Salt 1's, Atlantic and Pacific Salts , serrated of course.. which ones do you guys like the best and why? i cannot make my mind up.. :o

I recently purchased the Salt I with the bright yellow FRN handle after handling the Pacific Salt. The Salt I is basically the Delica with an H1 blade and the Pacific is the Endura with H1. I wanted the blade as a go everywhere, no worries, day hiking knife. I am extremely happy with my purchase. The Salt I is small and light but a great cutter. You really don't feel it in your pocket when you are carrying it. It really has all of the same characteristics of the Delica except for more of a sheepsfoot blade which I prefer to the typical Delica anyway because of the more robust tip (I really don't have any stabbing plans for my knives :))

To contrast with the Pacific; the Pacific is just bigger, otherwise very similar. I usually like bigger folders but for my purposes the smaller Salt I is perfect.

how much bigger is the pacific compared to the Salt 1? i dont need a big pocket knife. just some thing rust proof that i can cut bait, fishing lines, small rope, and other fishing odds and ends (i fresh water fish mostly but do some light on shore salt fishing as well)

Salt 1 would be perfect, its what I carry in my gear, I found the size of the endura/pacific to be a bit long to do detailed work with slippery hands. Below is an endura and delica, Salt I and Pacific are the same size, just H1 and hollow as opposed to VG-10 and FFG

I've carried a Salt 1 SE daily for about 4 years. I work as a landscaper and use my knife hard. With it I cut sod, burlap, rope, bags of fertilizer and lots of other nasty things. The Salt 1 with H1 blade is a hard use knife. Oh yea I forgot, I often cut small branches and dig up weeds with the dang thing. Because it is serrated it seems to stay very sharp. The tip is nice and thick and often used to puncture things.
Overall a very tuff knife.

The Salts I've been carrying are a Yellow PE Pacific and a black SE Tasman. I use the Tasman a lot at work cutting straps and boxes, etc. I use the Pacific a lot for foodstuffs, etc. I also use the Pacific when a stronger tip is needed over the Tasman. I broke off a *very* tiny bit of tip off the Tasman, but it's barely noticeable w/out a close look at it.

I don't clip them, but carry one down in the left front and the other in the right front pockets, like regular pocket knives. They're so light they barely register as being there until I need them. Although I often have to dig a bit to get to the Tasman, due to its smaller size and other things in the pocket with it.

I've had the Pacific with me in the ocean, and the grit cleaned out easily with no problems at all.
