Hello all,
Looking to replace my hawk H1 I somehow lost.

After the folder, am thinking fix, sand was always getting i there. For surf fishing.
Been using an Applegate that is great but have to stay on top of it and just don't want to ruin it.

Looking for a fixed, at least 6" if not more, rater more, draining sheath, H1 or similar non rusting, plain edge, unless its longer would consider 50/50, strong lock as would be on the belt in the surf. Sharp tip is good, don't need blunt, it'll be for cuttin, poking, slicing, dicing.

That's why the Applegate works, but I know I'll kill it.

It'll be on the hip and size is not a prob.

Do not want to go down the titanium or dive knife route, I always hated my dive knives.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

Have you looked at Spyderco's Rock Salt, it seems to be what you are looking for. Or if you don't mind a little shorter than 6 inches, and can stand the cost, have you looked at the Spyderco Warrior? Both are in H1 steel.

I would go with the Rock Salt:

I'll suggest a Mora Craftline Allround:

Stainless 4" blade, very sharp; rubberized handles very grippy when wet; locks positively into the sheath, which has a drainhole; secure belt clip. I've carried on on my life jacket for the past year, I like it.

Edit: $14, if you lose it or ruin it you won't feel bad.

D'ohboy and friends,
That's the ticket! Exactly what I was looking for! Exactly.
Ordered it and on its way.
Will have to mod the sheath so no chance of loosing it in the wash.

I surf fish, at night a lot and wade as well. Big knife for big problems.
Lots of shit in the water to get tangled in and though serrated is usually better, have no problem with PE.
Plus can keep a toothy backup hawk if needed.

Thanks!

Oh, The Moras are great, but want a bigger blade.
And the fish get big when I'm lucky, though this Fall only got to 18lbs. :)
Gonna try shark from the surf this summer
