I was working on a fillet knife today and while showing off it’s flexibility I went past 90 degrees before the blade snapped. There was about a 5-10 second period where I thought it was hilarious before I realized 3 hours of grinding went down the drain so I did what I could to salvage it. How often are you guys salvaging snapped blades?

Hmmm....interesting question. I initially was going to say, 'Fortunately, not too often', then I thought, perhaps I need to test a few of my blades more.

One question so this can be an information gathering experience opposed to just an unfortunate one: How does the grain look?
