Wow, wonderful execution and marvelous engraving, some of the most beautiful I have ever seen.

Even as pencil on paper, that would be very skillful drawing. As engraving on metal, and that small, I'm just amazed by the skill level.

WOW!!! Gorgeous is all I can say.

Near perfect knife, AFAIC.

Quick question - where is the thumbdisk in the first picture?

It'd be hard to pay attention to what I was cutting .. if I was brave enough to cut with that knife.
That's really magnificent!

I'm always in awe admiring both of these artists.

Salvatore: The wonderful simplicity of lines and curves of the dagger. Then looking closely at the intricate backbar and file work. Superb.

Manrico is, probably, THE most sought after engraver for upper tier knives that you will find. Case in point.

Joss: The first image is simply the two panels, not the completed knife.

This knife represents a number of makers' tribute to Jim Schmidt's work. I believe Francesco Pachi is creating a book on his work? I was told there were TONS of Jim's pieces available to be photographed in Milan.

Fill in what I've missed, Dan? Congrats on this acquisition.

thanks everyone and thank you Jim, you are correct on all.
no one does a woman like Manrico

My, oh my, the detail. That engraving is lifelike, and for goodness sake those are file worked feathers!

High-art folders aren't really my thing but the other-worldly skill level displayed here mesmerizing.

My wife just saw these photos and said "Her butt looks amazing!". :p

Wonderful knife and wonderful engraving , congratulations to both the artists and also to the woman on the knife
Coop, the book about Jim Schmidt is ready , it will be presented officially at the next ECCKS , I've seen a copy and it's great

Incredible craftsmanship on EVERY level of the knife and engraving. The woman looks as she could come alive...wishful thinking:D

Manrico Torcoli is undoubtedly one of the best, as is Salvatore Puddu.

Thanks for posting it,
Peter
