Greetings all. I got hold of this pic of Sam's JS test knives (nicely shown by Point Seven) and thought y'all might like a peek. I understand that our own Darby snagged one of these puppies so perhaps he can chime in with his thoughts.

Congrats Sam - nice work!

Great knives.
Our own Chuck Kerwin also got the Camp Knife and needless to say is now a happy camper as a result.

Congratulations Sam, Chuck and Darby.

I was able to pick up Sam's camp knife which is the first knife in the picture. Great knife and beautiful wood.;) :D Sam is a great guy also:thumbup:

Sam does very clean work  and did you notice the flow of his designs? Lin

I've been hearing lots of good things about Sam, and after the Little Rock Show....I understand why. Very nice work. Hard to believe he is just an Apprentice, but not for long. He's another I can add to the list.

I have two of Sam's bowies. An 11" Southwest and a 10 1/4" fighter-type blade. Both really nice pieces. Yes, very clean. Handles are very comfortable. The 10" balances about 1" in front of the guard and feels reasonably light for a bowie that size. The 11" has been posted here in the past. Both have lines and proportions that are good the eye.

I hear that Rhea makes a farly decent knife also; might actually get one real soon if I'm lucky... Is that so, Lin? :D

Robert,
I'll think about it....., just kiddin! :D I'll have it to you very soon.

I especially like the second one from the top. The double guard fighter. What are your woods for the handles? And is that mammoth ivory (second from bottom) or Giraffe bone?
Lin

I like the one that's designed to cut around corners.

The group shows a nice variety, and excellent workmanship.

All awesome knives, I got to look them over at the show!

I think my favorite is the snakedwood hunter... it just really begs to be picked up and handled.

Sam's work is all very clean and feels really good in the hand... exactly what you want! :)

Thanks for posting these Roger, they definitely needed to be seen here!!! :D

Hi Lin the second one from the top is Ring Gidgee and the second one
from the bottom is Giraffe bone.
Thank you All.

Hi Sam,
Very nice work.
I like 'em all but the little hunter is really sweet.
Thanks for posting them Roger.

I was lucky enough to be beside Sam at Blade this year, and got to see all his knives. They were all very nice and very clean. And Sam is a nice guy to boot!! The sheephorn hunter was my favorite. It wasn't one of his test knives, but it was very NICE. Bill

THANKS for posting ROGER!

Yes, the second from the top (Southwestern) is mine. It's 5160 with ringed gidgee for the handle. (The grinds are really nice too)

Sam is a good maker....he knows how a knife should "feel" in the hand. He also has good character and I believe (HE) is worth owning.

Thanks Sam.

Congratulations on making Journeyman. I had no doubts.

Guys, whatever it takes, you need to get on Sam's list.
His fit, finish and flow rank up there with the best of them.

It was a pleasure meeting you at the show and discussing my future order. My only problem now is I can't decide what the handle material should be - that snakewood was beautiful.

I'll be waiting for the call. :)

Great knives. I enjoyed meeting Sam at Blade as well and got to drool over his fine wares a bit. When he told me he's only been doing this for about three years I just about reached across the table and smacked him. He obviously has a natural talent for knifemaking and I can't wait to see what he brings with him next year.

Hey, Sam. How about enabling the Private Message and email features, so that folks(like me, for instance) can harrass you electronically? :p :D ;) :)

Nice knives, by the way.
