Pardon me for the intrusion to your community. I am an Ebay service provider in the Shenandoah Valley of Va and just got my hands on some knives that I have been asked to post and sell. Not selling here, just hoping to see what the interest is in these knives and maybe find out something about their value.
What I have is 2 sets of knives created by Sam Cox who is apparently a big name in the field. 1 set is a carving set with knife and fork in a beautiful display box. They have scrimshawed handles displaying a beagle on one and a pointer on the other. The 2nd set is a set of steak knives. Again in a beautiful case. 8 knives in this one with assorted wildlife scrimshawed in the handles. The steak knives have the Sam Cox signature engraved in the blade.
The Steak Knife case is marked 1989 Set #9. the Carving set is marked 1989 Set #1.
Please excuse my lack of knowledge and I hope popping in seeking some guidance and info is acceptable.
If you can offer up any info at all on these beautiful knives, please do so. It will be much appreciated!
