Here is a fresh runoff poll with the current leaders. This vote is a secret ballot. Feel free to change your mind.

1. Fogg Bowie

2. Newton Spearpoint Hunter

3. Andrews Caramel Bowie

4. Hanson Firestag Bowie

5. Fisk NLT Bowie

6. One of the Others

If you vote for one of the others, please post which one it is. Thanks.

Here is a beautiful sambar stag carver that has been attached to some steel by a guy named Don Fogg, MS.

Roger,

We may have to do a separate poll for Russ's Stag, all three are mighty fine, but I dont think that it is fair to give him three entries in this poll.
So I guess will will just have to suffer along with your example. LOL! ;)

How do I vote? Jim Treacy

You should see the voting options at the very top of the thread. Select your choice and click the vote button. Once you have voted you will see the current results in a bar graph form.

But if I could, it would be the Hanson. It shows the depth of the stag in a subtle but striking degree like I have never seen before.

Todd

I too can not vote but Don Hanson would also get my vote. The depth of that stag is amazing.

Mike

Guys, I voted for the Hanson Fire stag on the first and this poll. After it was brought to my attention and with some thought on my part, I have decided this is NOT cool. If I could change my vote, my choice would be the (Andrews Caramel Bowie) followed closely by the (Fisk NLT Bowie). I do apologize for this, I was acting like a politician :o

I don't see any problem with this Don. The vote isn't for best knife - it's for best piece of stag. Mother Nature had a big role top play in each piece. If you like the stag on the knife you made best, then that's exactly where your vote should have gone. And it's not surprising that more than a few people so far seem to agree with you. :) It is a very striking and memorable piece.

And going slightly off topic, I just have to say that the Newton piece may just be my favorite hunter of his ever. Dreamy stag, classy engraving and stunning damascus.

Roger

I don't see a problem with it either. I voted for Don's but it was like asking Homer Simpson to pick his favorite donut. Mmmmm, stag!

Even if it were for best knife, I wouldn't see any problem with it. There's no arrogance in thinking that your knife is the best. Maybe it would be if it was obvious that you were outclassed, but to the contrary it's obvious to me that you're in the running.

I agree. Whatever stag or knife for that matter, you like the best you should vote for. Whether you made it or not.

Ahhhh. Just as in life and religion, when we have to choose favorites there is bound to be trouble. Why can't we all just enjoy our own decisions...??? ;)

Each and every one of these are standouts in a different style. My private email to Peter was: "Where is 'All of the above'?" :D

The Fogg, the Andrews, the Hanson, the Fisk, the Newton Spearpoint Hunter with that incredible Damascus and all the others, almost too hard to choose,I picked the Hanson.

Doug

Very, very tough. The Bowie is my favorite knife -- and you had to list some of my favorite makers.

Took 15 minutes of thought, but I had to go for Fogg.

Truly, the margin was very thin!
